The CEO leading Ensera’s evolution
Jason Anderson has taken a fascinating route to the CEO chair at Ensera. From chemical engineering at BASF, to McKinsey, to a venture backed polymer start up sold to Saudi Aramco, he has lived and worked across North America, Asia, and Europe. Today he is leading Ensera (formerly SteriPack) through a period of evolution and growth as it positions itself at the intersection of pharma and medtech.
When I sat down with Jason, I walked away with three big lessons:
What I Learnt
- Appreciate local knowledge. Global expansion only works if you respect and leverage the insights of local teams on the ground.
- Value in complexity. Whether pharma or medtech, the most opportunity lies in solving complicated, high mix, high uncertainty problems for clients.
- Change creates opportunity. Jason sees turbulence in markets not as a threat but as a chance to adapt, solve problems, and win.
What I Liked
Jason struck me as really smart and understated, but also the kind of leader who rolls up his sleeves and gets stuck in. He has the instincts of a wannabe entrepreneur, always chasing impact, solving problems, and working with clients on tough challenges. We also shared a lot of personal common ground, from moving countries to raising kids abroad and learning to appreciate the quirks of local culture.
Reflection
What resonated with me most was Jason’s view that problem solving is where value truly lies. In a sector that thrives on complexity, that mindset is gold. His career journey also reinforced something I have seen myself. Moving between countries, companies, and industries gives you perspective and resilience that static careers often lack.
Jason is leading Ensera through change with a balance of intelligence, humility, and grit. And from our conversation, it is clear he is just getting started.
